PURPOSE: A structure of a variable inner lead of a cathode ray tube stem is provided to change length and an inner lead shape by forming the inner lead divided into a fixing inner lead and an exchangeable inner lead. CONSTITUTION: A stem assembly(70) includes a stem glass for fixing an inner lead and an outer lead(74). The stem glass is fixed to an end portion of a neck of a cathode ray tube by a sealing process. An electron gun is installed in the inside of the neck. The stem glass is formed with a flare(71) sealed on the neck and a fillet(72) for fixing the inner lead and the outer lead(74). The inner lead is divided into a fixing inner led(73a) fixed to the fillet(72) and an exchangeable inner lead(73b) fixed to the fixing inner lead(73a) by inserting a connection portion(76) therebetween. The connection portion(76) is formed with a male screw and a female screw combined with the male screw.
