SOLUTION: This binaphthol derivative is the one represented by general formula 1 [Y1 , Y1 ', Y2 and Y2 ' are each a carboxy group, an esterified carboxy group, an amide group or the like; R and R' are each hydrogen, an alkyl group or the like; Q and Q' are each an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or the like; and m and m' are each an integer of 0-3] or a salt thereof.
