PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a crutch operation lever of a deadman lever structure from being carelessly moved to a crutch ON position due to a misoperation when the crutch operation lever exists at a crutch OFF position. SOLUTION: This deadman lever device is provided with a lever restraining means for manually switching a crutch operation lever in a deadman lever structure to an attitude that this is restrained so as not to be rotatable and an attitude that this is released from being restrained when the crutch operation lever is present at a crutch-OFF position. Thus, even when the lever restraining means is released after the crutch operation lever is switched to the attitude that this is released from being restrained, the attitude is maintained so that the crutch operation lever can be held in the attitude that this is released from being restrained until restored to the crutch-OFF position.
