METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clarification method which does not require a process step of removing He after clarification by doping an additive to a porous glass body in clarification. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing glass articles consists of a first process step of introducing the porous glass body into a heating furnace, a second process step of holding the interior of the heating furnace at a first temperature region and adding the additive to the porous glass body, a third process step of maintaining the interior of the heating furnace at a second temperature region to increase the bulk density of the porous glass body, a fourth process step of maintaining the interior of the heating furnace at a third temperature region to remove the gas in the porous glass body and a fifth process step of maintaining the interior of the heating furnace at a fourth temperature region to make the porous glass body into transparent glass.
