PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the amount of infiltration of dust into the inside of a removable hard disk cartridge to a minimum level. SOLUTION: In this storage device, after a stand-by time Td has elapsed from a time the rotation of a bending type head actuator is started from an arm-locking position P11 to an arm-loading/unloading position P12, the revolving speed of a spindle motor is started, and when the spindle motor is raised roughly to a stationary revolving speed, the bending type head actuator is made to reach the arm-loading/unloading position P12.
