PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high sensitivity characteristics in the wavelength range of 380-500 nm, free of fatigue deterioration due to light and excellent in durability and to provide an image forming apparatus using the photoreceptor, using laser light in the wavelength range of 380-600 nm as a light source for exposure, having high sensitivity and high resolving power and giving stable image quality. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor using a laser whose oscillation wavelength is in the range of 380-500 nm as a light source for exposure, a specified benzofuran-amine compound is contained as a charge-transfer material 3 in a photosensitive layer 4 on an electrically conductive substrate 1. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is installed in an image forming apparatus using a laser having an oscillation wavelength in the range of 380-500 nm as a light source for exposure.
