PURPOSE: A multi-purpose buffer member is provided to minimize the damage of human life in a collision of cars, and to reduce a construction cost by allowing the buffer member to be separately attached to an existing protective wall. CONSTITUTION: The multi-purpose buffer member comprises a first buffer body(10') defining a plurality of air buffer sections of sealing space structure therein, the first buffer body being formed with a horizontal guide rail on the front surface thereof and an impact bar(40) arranged at an equal distance on the rear surface thereof, the air buffer section being charged with foam rubber; at least one second buffer body having a same structure with the first buffer body; a connecting device between the buffer bodies; and a fixing device for fixing the connecting device to a prop.
