PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that it takes time in a conventional image display method to display an image, since even various objects present in areas originally not to be gaze at are processed for the display. SOLUTION: This method has a step ST1 for specifying an enlargement-object area as an image area to be enlarged, a step ST2 for computing shape data on the enlarged area according to shape data of the enlargement-object area and also determining the arrangement position of the enlarged area in a picture, a step ST3 for acknowledging the remaining area obtained by removing the enlarged area from the whole picture, and a step ST4 for enlarging and displaying the image in the enlargement-object area and displaying none of the remaining area.
