PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for preventing a hydraulic elevator from lowering. SOLUTION: In this hydraulic elevator, an emergency stop means for urgently stopping a car by grasping a guide rail for guiding the lifting of the car is installed on a car side.
