PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk cartridge which enables an operator to identify recordable state and unrecordable, state at a glance and prevents a switching member for switching the recordable state and the unrecordable state from making unintended movement due to impact. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge 10 has a write protecting section 160. The write protecting section 160 has an accidental erasure preventive plug switching a stop position by moving back and forth, in the thickness direction of a casing 30 to switch the recordable state and the unrecordable state and the top end of this accidental erasure preventive plug is provided with a trust plate 164 which can be thrust from the outside. As a result, the operator is able to determine the discrimination of the recordable state and the unrecordable state at a glance. The accidental erasure preventive plug is held locked in the stop position, and even if the impact, etc., are applied to the disk cartridge 10, the accidental erasure preventive plug is prevented from making the unintended movement.
