PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal smelting furnace capable of individually separating at least one kind of a mat and a metal which are generated in a smelting reaction (3), and each slag with excellent separability without temporarily interrupting the operation (1) and without individually providing any furnace for separation (2). SOLUTION: The metal smelting furnace has a molten metal statically hold part which is communicated with a reaction bed part for generating the smelting reaction (1), statically holding the molten metal to separate the molten metal into at least one kind of a mat phase and a metal phase and a slag phase (2), and has a collection port and a discharge port for collecting and discharging each separated phase at a place without any stirring effect of the reaction bed part thereon (3).
