The door frame, and especially for a fire door (38), is composed of two shell sections (10,12) with metal profiles (14,16) to lock them together in a force fit. The frame has upright members, locked together by a head cross bar. The uprights and/or cross bar can slide parallel to the wall structure (40) for bonding to it.
