PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for planning and allocating hosting- service resources the most suitably. SOLUTION: The method, a device, and a computer program product for allocating hosting service resources to clients on at least one common server are disclosed. In the method, utilization patterns of the clients are discovered. According to the utilization patterns, the resources are allocated to the clients. Preferably, the method includes a step for providing bounds specifying maximum and minimum hosting-service resources for each of the clients and the allocating step also depends upon the bounds.
