PURPOSE: A hydroforming sealing method is provided to remarkably reduce defective proportion of hydroforming and improve productivity and reduce manufacturing cost accordingly by inserting a sealing member such as O-ring between punches and a material to be processed to secure superior sealing property therebetween. CONSTITUTION: In a method for sealing between the punches(13) and the material to be processed(12) in a hydroforming method comprising the processes of arranging a material to be processed(12) between an upper die(10) and a lower die(11) having a certain forming surface; simultaneously coupling the upper die(10) and the lower die(11), and sealing an end part of both sides of the material to be processed(12) with a pair of punches(13); and charging a fluid into the material to be processed(12) and pressurizing the fluid at the same time as maintaining position of the punches(13) through each presses(14), the hydroforming sealing method is characterized in that sealing is done by inserting an elastically transformable and restoring sealing member between the punches(13) and the material to be processed(12), thereby using compression force in which the sealing member is transformed by pressurization force between the punches(13) and the material to be processed(12), wherein a ring resting part(17) is installed on a sealing member resting portion of the punches(13) so that the sealing member is not moved out to the outside, and an O-ring(18) is used as the sealing member. |
