PURPOSE: Provided is a coin selector which aligns light emission and light reception elements as the size of the coins and detects them so that it improves workability and exactness. CONSTITUTION: In the coin selector which judges the amount of the coins to be inserted and accumulates the judged amount of the coins to store, the coin selector is characterized by comprising the parts of: a light emission part(200) which generates a light signal; a light emission control part which controls drive current of the light emission part; a light reception part(300) which includes plural light reception parts to block the light signal permitted from the light emission part and permit a coin detection signal; and a micom which controls the light emission control part, drives the light emission part, judges the amount of the coins as the detection signal from the light reception part and accumulates the stored data.
