The invention relates to a valve fitted with a housing, having an admission and an exhaust line (1, 11), which may separated from each other by an adjustable closing piece, wherein said piece rests on a valve seat (2) disposed diagonally in relation the direction of flow. The valve is embodied is such a way that the bearing surface (3) of the valve seat (2) is peripherally inclined in such a way thathe points of intersection of the diametrically opposing tangents (5-10 and 5a-10a) lying on the bearing surfa ce (3) enclose a surface or the bearing surface (3) extends at a right angle in relation to the vertical line of the direction of flow.
