PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle device which can miniaturize an axle case as small as possible while improvement of assembly efficiency can be attained. SOLUTION: An axle case is formed with an opening which can insert a differential gear, a cover plate closing this opening is provided with a first support part supporting an input shaft and a second support part supporting the differential gear in a position displaced in an axial line direction from this first support part, and the differential gear comprises a ring gear connected in a manner of operation to the input shaft and a differential case connected incapable of relative rotation to a back surface of this ring gear.
