PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a conventional sensor and the attached circuit, to reduce impacts when a secondary transfer roller and a cleaning blade come into contact with an intermediate transfer body, and also, to reduce a motor load. SOLUTION: The image forming device provided with mechanisms (6 and 9), is provided with touching/separating mechanism driving means (2a, 2b, 2c, 5 and 12) for mitigating the contact impact by applying a braking force in attaching of the mechanisms, and applying a force for accelerating the separation of the mechanisms to achieve instantaneously separation of the mechanism.
