PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that ensures output of an image subjected to image processing, which reflects the color reproduction characteristics of a shooting device and the intention of a photographer in shooting. SOLUTION: The process generates an image file that includes picture data generated by a digital still camera, as well as control data and output specification information attached thereto. The control data controls the details of image processing according to the color reproduction characteristics of the camera and the intention of the photographer in shooting. The image processing information is embedded to the image data by electronic watermark technology. A printer extracts the image picture information subjected to electronic watermark embedding from the image data and applies image processing based thereon, and after that executes printing. Thus, the printing reflecting the intention of the photographer in shooting or the like can be realized and tampering or the like of the image processing information can be avoided. |
