PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording information on an optical recording medium that can increase the recording density per unit area and to provide an optical recording medium on which information of a large volume is recorded in a compact and lightweight state. SOLUTION: A light generating means which generates a pulse light having <1 nanosecond pulse width is used for recording so as to decrease a useless dead space and to realize the above purpose.
