CARRIAGE STABILIZING STRUCTURE FOR IMAGE READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the carriage stabilizing structure of an image reader by which a carriage is prevented from floating up to a position being equal to or over the prescribed position by arranging the inclination preventing means of the carriage in order to prevent such a state that the carriage moved by winding up a wire floats up because it receives inadvertent force and the inclined state of the carriage is maintained by receiving the tension of the wire from occurring. SOLUTION: An engagement arm part 23 is arranged at the end part of a supporting part 22 with which both end parts of the carriage 20 are provided so as to project upward. In the case that the carriage 20 is about to float up by receiving the inadvertent force when the image reader is transported, the arm part 23 abuts on the ceiling surface 2e of a housing 2 so as to prevent the carriage from floating up further. Thus, the carriage 20 is returned to a normal state position for scanning.
