PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that allows an image processing unit and an information terminal to transceive status information with each other during transmission/reception of print data and image read data between the information terminal and the image processing unit and to provide the information terminal, an image forming device, an image reader, a communication control method and a storage medium and a program. SOLUTION: A MAC(media access control) layer control section 103 of a host computer and a MAC layer control section 206 of a printer 2 respectively set a 1st communication channel for transmission from the host computer to the printer 2 and set a 2nd communication channel for transmission of a command from the host computer to the printer 2 and for transmission of status information from the printer 2 to the host computer.
