A cable zone assembly is attached to a rack frame of the type having a base plate, a top plate and a plurality of vertical rack members extending between the base and the top plate. The assembly comprises firstly of a cable zone base member which is attachable to the base plate to form an extension of the base plate. Also, there is a cable zone top member, which is attachable to the top plate to form an extension of the top plate. It also has at least one vertical panel member and attachment means to allow the vertical panel to be attached to the cable zone base member and the cable zone top member, whereby when the cable zone base member is attached to the base plate, and the cable zone top member is attached to the top plate and the at least one vertical panel member is attached to both the cable zone base member and cable zone top member, there is an extension to the rack frame defined, the extension being self-supporting and adapted to provide or enlarge a space for cables.
