An article of furniture comprising a seat and a backrest together forming a seating area, a moulded support for the seating area capable of supporting the seating area, and at least one electrically powered illumination means adapted to emit light outwardly from a forward facing aspect of the moulded support. The moulded support is constructed by the application of a hardenable coating over a mould, the mould having a shape also allowing the moulded support to be pulled off the mould in one piece, towards the forwards facing aspect, after hardening. The moulded support is constructed in more than one piece. The forward facing aspect of the moulded support in constructed so as to have the appearance of part of a vehicle. The electrically powered illumination means comprises at least one light source inserted into the forwards facing aspect of the moulded support, the light source having the appearance of a light of a vehicle.
