PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the contrast and color purity, which suppressing to minimal level the lowering of luminance, and especially, suppress the lowering of contrast accompanying neon emission, in the plasma display panel having color display. SOLUTION: An optical filter, which has a damped wavelength region of 560-590 nm, is installed on the display screen side of the discharging space of the plasma display panel that makes color display, by filling a discharge gas made of mainly neon and xenon into the discharging space. |
