PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of rear-end concentration drops (rear-end voids) which occur in a large-area image by correcting image signals. SOLUTION: The coefficient values of a spatial filter are asymmetrically arranged. Namely, the coefficient values are arranged so that the coefficient values on the right and left sides of the center axis of the filter in the direction of rotation of a photosensitive body become symmetrical with respect to the center axis, and the coefficient values on the up and down of the center axis of the filter orthogonal to the direction of rotation of the photosensitive body become symmetrical with respect to the center axis. Consequently, the occurrence of rear end voids can be reduced. |
