PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized display device with which a desired image can be observed in the state of both eyepiece and non-eyepiece. SOLUTION: The small-sized display device is constituted of a small-sized display element 1 displaying images by electric signals, an optical element 2 enlarging the images of the small-sized display element 1, a pupil position sensor 3 for measuring the relative space position of the pupil of an observer to the small-sized display device, an eyepiece determination sensor 10 for determining whether it is the eyepiece or the non-eyepiece, and an information processor 4. The information processor 4 controls image information to be displayed at the small-sized display element 1 based on the pupil position sensor 3 and the eyepiece determination sensor 10. Thus, the small-sized display with which the desired image can be observed in the state of both eyepiece and non-eyepiece is realized.
