An electronic settling system including a settling server for settling a transaction. The electronic settling system comprises a card reader for reading card information from a card used for settling a transaction and a transaction terminal connected with the card reader for transmitting the card information acquired from the card reader, together with card reader identifying information for identifying the card reader connected with the transaction terminal and transaction terminal identifying information for identifying the transaction terminal, to the settling server. On the basis of the combination of the transaction terminal identifying information and the card reader identifying information, the settling server authenticates the transaction terminal. If the authentication succeeds, the settling server performs the settlement by using the card information received from the transaction terminal through a communication network.
