Rolled copper foil, having a specified oxygen content, strictly controlled trace element contents and a specified softening temperature increase index, is new. A novel rolled copper foil is 5-50 mu thick, contains 'more than 10 wt. ppm oxygen' (sic, disclosed oxygen content is not >10 ppm) and has a softening temperature increase index (T) of 4-34 as defined by T = 0.60[Bi] + 0.55[Pb] + 0.60[Sb] + 0.64[Se] + 1.36[S] + 0.32[As] + 0.09[Fe] + 0.02[Ni] + 0.76[Te] + 0.48[Sn] + 0.16[Ag] + 1.24[P], where [Bi] = less than 5 ppm, [Pb] = less than 10 ppm, [Sb] = less than 5 ppm, [Se] = less than 5 ppm, [S] = less than 15 ppm, [As] = less than 5 ppm, [Fe] = less than 20 ppm, [Ni] = less than 20 ppm, [Te] = less than 5 ppm, [Sn] = less than 20 ppm, [Ag] = less than 50 ppm and [P] = less than 15 ppm. An independent claim is also included for production of the above rolled copper foil. |
