Method for selective enrichment of individual, specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) fragments (I) from complex mixtures of fragments, is new. Method for selective enrichment of individual, specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) fragments (I) from complex mixtures of fragments comprises: (a) preparing, with simultaneous labeling, a complex mixture of DNA segments; (b) hybridizing to an array of different oligonucleotides (ON); (c) releasing amplicons that have hybridized and using them as templates for further amplification and hybridization as in (i) and (ii); (d) repeating step (iii) many times; and (e) identifying the amplicons.
