The inking unit has two ink rollers (03,04) with partially engaging jackets. The first roller is axially displaceable in two directions from a central position. The second roller is axially displaceable with the first roller in a first operation stage, and is axially fixed in a second stage. The first roller is a friction cylinder, the second roller is an ink application roller. A third roller (02) engages partially with the first and/or the second roller. The third roller jacket has two sections (11,12) separated by an undercut (13), the width of which corresponds to at least double the stroke of the first roller.
