PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defective electrification, and the deterioration of an image quality caused by an electrostatically stuck matter as muck as possible by precisely and efficiently removing the electrostatically stuck matter such as toner stuck to a roll type electrifying member rotated and coming into contact by/with a photoreceptive drum without sticking over a long term. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with on electrification power source 33 to apply negative voltage and positive voltage switchably to the electrifying member 30 of the electrifier 12. When an image is not formed, a cleaning cycle by which the negative voltage and the positive voltage are respectively applied at least once each and also only for time equal to or longer than the time required for one rotation of the electrifying member 30 to the electrifying member 30 from the electrification power source 33 so as to shift the electrostatically stuck matter such as the toner electrostatically stuck to the electrifying member 30 to the side of an image carrier is performed. |
