PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the direction of the vehicle body of a construction machine and to measure the position of its monitor point irrespective of its working conditions or its type, in the case of a position measuring system for the traveling construction machine. SOLUTION: A hydraulic excavator 1 is provided with angle sensors 21, 22, and 23 for detecting a boom angle, an arm angle, and a bucket angle, respectively, an incline sensor 24 for detecting the longitudinal inclination angle of an upper turning body 3, two GPS antennas 31 and 32 with GPS receivers 43 and 44, radio equipment 41 and 42 for receiving correction data (to be described) from a reference station via radio antennas 33 and 34, a radio antenna 35 for transmitting position data, and a panel computer 45, wherein the position of the front end (monitor point) of a bucket 7 of the hydraulic excavator 1 is computed, based on the positional data from the receivers 43 and 44 and angle data from the sensors 21 to 24.
