PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the quality of angular speed detecting state and the quality of vehicle speed detecting state, without concealing map information on a screen. SOLUTION: A state monitoring part 10 decides on the quality of angular speed detecting state in an angular speed detection part 3 and the quality of vehicle speed detecting state in a vehicle speed detection part 4, and reports the decision result to a drawing part 12. A dead navigation part 7 estimates the present position from the outputs of the angular speed detection part 3 and the vehicle speed detection part 4 through dead navigation. The drawing part 13 reads map data, including the estimated present position from a map data memory part 1, draws a map image around the present position in an image memory part 11 by use of the read map data, and draws a present position mark of the kind over the center of the map image, according to the combination of the quality of angular speed detecting state and the quality of vehicle speed detecting state. The image of the image memory part 11 is read and converted into an image signal by an image conversion part 14, and is outputted to a display part 5 to display the map image on the screen, together with the present position mark. |
