PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt tension measuring device capable of easily measuring the tension of a belt independently from skillfulness. SOLUTION: This belt tension measuring device 20 for measuring the tension of the belt 15 laid between pulleys comprises an inclination gauge 21 and a holder 22. The inclination gauge 21 has a display part 26 for displaying the inclination to a horizontal plane L. When the measuring device 20 is fixed to the belt 16 by the holder 22 so that the inclination gauge 21 is located on the side of the belt 15, the belt 15 is twisted by the weight of the inclination gauge 21. The larger the tension of the belt 15 is, the smaller the inclinationθof the inclination gauge 21 is. The inclinationθis displayed on the display part 26, and it is judged whether the tension of the belt 15 is within a management value or not on the basis of the correlation of the tension of the belt 15 with the inclinationθ.
