PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for a surface decorative member formed by using a cement based finishing material which has high decorativeness, durability, strength, or the like. SOLUTION: A vitrifying treatment solution is infiltrated into the surface of a member formed by using a cement based finishing material of concrete, mortar, or the like, so that the surface of the member is vitrified, and the vitrified surface is subjected to a grinding finish. The vitrifying treatment solution contains a sodium silicate solution, and pigments for coloring can be added thereto. Further, it is possible that a finished face with a joint obtained by pasting a joint sheet blanked into a joint shape on a substrate face for finishing operation in a peelable way, and coating the same with a cement based finishing material, is used as the surface of the member.
