<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an extraction agent capable of selectively extracting cupric ions out of an aqueous solution wherein cupric ions and base metal ions other than cupric ions coexist and capable of selectively extracting nickel ions out of an aqueous solution wherein nickel ions, cupric ions, and base metal ions other than nickel ions coexist, and to provide a technique for separating cupric ions and nickel ions. SOLUTION: In this method, an organic solvent of a chitosan derivative, with an acyl group introduced into the chitosan hydroxyl group and a dithiocarbamate group introduced into the chitosan amino group, is used to selectively extract cupric ions out of the aqueous solution wherein cupric ions and base metal ions other than cupric ions coexist or the selectively extract nickel ions out of the aqueous solution wherein nickel ions, cupric ions, and base metal ions other than nickel ions coexist.</p> |
