MONOAZO COMPOUND, AMINOBENZOTHIAZOLE DERIVATIVE AND ITS PRODUCTION PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a benzothiazole based monoazo coloring matter useful for the disperse dyeing of various synthetic fibers and as a material for coloring plastics, and an aminobenzothiazole derivative useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of this monoazo coloring matter, and a method to produce a mixture of isomers of this aminobenzothiazole derivative by a simple step. SOLUTION: The monoazo coloring matter comprises a monoazo compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein A is an optionally substituted hydrocarbon ring or heterocyclic ring; X is Cl or Br; and R<1> and R<2> are each independently an alkyl group or H, provided that at least one of them is an alkyl group). The aminobenzothiazole derivative serves as an intermediate for the monoazo compound. This aminobenzothiazole derivative is produced by using an m-alkylphenylthiourea derivative as raw material and effecting the formation of a thiazole ring and the halogenation of a benzene ring in the same step.
