PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable grease leaked from between the inner peripheral surface of a tie bar bush and the outer peripheral surface of a tie bar from being adhered to a mold mounting surface or a movable mold of a movable platen, without increasing the number of components and without necessity of replacing the component. SOLUTION: A mold clamping unit for an injection molding machine comprises a guide means, and a guide hole to be engaged with the guide means. A recess 17 is formed at the part where the guide means is passed at the mold mounting surface side. A groove is formed on the wall surface of the recess 17. The clamping unit further comprises a movable mold support means advanced or retracted along the guide means.
