A terminal assembly 24 is used to provide connection between the printed circuitry 30 on board 28 and male or, as shown, female terminals 54 in receptacle 22 to which are attached the wires from the external circuitry. A plurality of female or, as shown, male terminals 32, mounted in a housing 48, have a cylindrical portion 66 and an end portion 68. The terminals are mounted in two rows with the end portions 68 bent at different positions, as shown dotted, to ensure that the tips of the end portions of the upper and lower rows finish in a plane parallel to that of the board 28. The assembly is mounted on the board by inserting the tips of the end portions 68 through holes 80 and soldering them to conductors 30. Resilient fingers 96 on portions 68 engage a radially inwardly extending surface 100 to hold portions 66 in place during mating of receptacle portion. |
