PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce security against the alteration of specific information on apparatus in a color imaging apparatus and improve the operability at a printing operation time. SOLUTION: At a CPU 12-4 of an engine 12, first specific information on apparatus, second specific information on apparatus and third specific information on apparatus are read out from a security unit 13, a flash memory 12-5 and a drum unit 14 respectively. These three pieces of the apparatus specific information are compared with each other. As a result of the comparison, when all agree, a normal printing operation by judging that no alteration is present is carried out. On the other hand, if there is a disagreeing one, the first specific information on apparatus is compared with the other specific information on apparatus and the specific information on apparatus is rewritten at the drum unit 14 or the flash memory 12-5 or it is displayed by a display unit 31 that the use is not permitted on the basis of the comparison result. |
