PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a measuring device for a ratio q/m of charging electric charge q to mass m of a toner particle by improving the efficiency of toner conveyance by a weak moving electric field and simplifying a circuit for detecting the toner particle. SOLUTION: The q/m measuring device for a toner particle small in size and capable of real-time processing comprises an electrode 3 of a periodic arrangement for generating a moving electric field to convey a toner particle 1, a polyphase square wave generator 4 for charging the electrode 3 to generate the moving electric field thereon, an ultrasonic vibrator 5 on which the periodic arrangement electrode is arranged, an alternating voltage generator 6 for driving the ultrasonic vibrator, a toner particle detecting part 15 formed on an ultrasonic vibrator 18, a power source 14 for the toner particle detecting part, a differential amplifier 9 for amplifying a signal produced by the toner particle detecting part, a computer 10 for analog-to-digital conversion of an output of the differential amplifier as signal processing and then computation about the ratio q/m, and a display 11 for displaying the processing result.
