<p>O-ring has convex contact surfaces and is placed between two opposite annular grooves with concave contact faces and they are set in an element by clamping. The ratio of the radius of curvature of the convex faces of the O-ring to that of the concave faces of the grooves is in the range of 0.5 to 0.85. This type of metallic seal diminishes the problem of sealing in the chemical industry where it is used for pressurised containers.</p> |
