PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a read-out rate of data by operating a semiconductor memory at high speed. SOLUTION: Data is stored in a plurality of first memory blocks, and reproduction data for reproducing this data is stored in a second memory block. At the time of read-out operation, the first operation in which data is read out directly from the selected first memory block or the second operation in which data is reproduced from data stored in non-selection first memory block and reproduction data stored in the second memory block is executed. Thereby, during read-out operation of the first memory block, further, read-out operation of the first memory block can be performed. Therefore, request for read-out operation from the outside can be received in a shorter period than a read-out cycle. That is, a semiconductor memory can be operated at high speed, and a read-out rate of data can be improved.
