PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the range finder of a camera which can secure a degree of freedom of the arrangement of respective members on the front side of the camera. SOLUTION: This range finder is equipped with a projecting means (projecting element 1 and projection lens 2) which projects light for distance measurement, a 1st photodetecting means (1st photodetection lens 3a and 1st PSD 4a) which outputs a 1st signal corresponding to the incidence position of the reflected light of the distance measuring light, a 2nd photodetecting means (2nd photodetection lens 3a and 2nd PSD 4b) which is arranged at a position different from the 1st photodetecting means and outputs a 2nd signal corresponding to the incidence position of the reflected light of the light measuring light, and an arithmetic control means 10 which computes a 1st value corresponding to the reflected light incidence position according to the 1st signal and a 2nd value corresponding to the reflected light incidence position according to the 2nd signal and determines a subject distance according to the 1st value or the 1st and 2nd values. The projecting means is arranged outside more than the 1st and 2nd photodetecting means. |
