PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed switching emitter/follower circuit. SOLUTION: This high-speed switching emitter/follower circuit is provided with a high-voltage power source line (60); a low-voltage power source line (52), a high-speed data input (51); a bipolar transistor means (E9) having a base, connected to the high voltage power source line for selectively receiving the high-speed data input an emitter connected to a fixed current source, base- steering means (N6, P6) having an input (EN9-) for receiving a first steering signal; and an enabling means (N7) for receiving a second steering signal (EN9), and for selectively connecting the emitter and a fixed current source (CS5) to the low-voltage power source (52), and for supplying basic fixed currents to the emitter, when the second steering signal is a first logical state, and for removing the emitter from the low voltage power source, so that currents can be prevented from flowing from or to the emitter, when the second steering signal is a second logical state.
