PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound having an excellent p38 MAP kinase-inhibiting action. SOLUTION: (1) A 1,3-thiazole compound whose 5-position is substituted with a pyridyl group having a substituent not containing an aromatic group, (2) a 1,3-thiazole compound whose 5-position is substituted with a pyridyl group having an aromatic group-free substituent at the position adjacent to the nitrogen atom of the pyridyl group, or its salt.
