PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive which is excellent in adhesion to various plastic films, metals (e.g. copper, aluminum, or stainless steel), and glass, and excellent in heat resistance, moisture resistance, shelf life, etc. SOLUTION: The adhesive is based on a polyester which has phenolic hydroxyl groups and contains 100 mol% of total acid component, and 100 mol% of glycol component which contains at least 30 mol% of at least one glycol selected from the group consisting of 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,6- hexanediol, 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, neopentyl glycol, and cyclohexanedimethanol and also contains phenotic hydroxyl group. Or the adhesive composition contains the polyester having the phenolic hydroxyl group, an epoxy compound and a curing catalyst.
