ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIFUNGAL ASSISTANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress new generation of resistant microbes by finding a novel effective ingredient as a suppressing means for biofilms and using the ingredient as an assistant for antibacterial and antifungal agent to recover infected patients caused by biofilm-forming microbes and carrying out complete sterilization of instruments and support for presenting wasteless recipes. SOLUTION: The purpose can be achieved by finding that a pentose or its sugar alcohol can suppress the formation of biofilms with bacteria and/or fungi and obtaining an antibacterial and antifungal assistant by using the same as an effective ingredient.
