PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the number of printable pages in such a way that even if a shared printer is used, it will not be confused with other printer hosts. SOLUTION: An ink quantity managing part 74 measures the amount of ink used for printing print data in print units, for each requesting host. The measurements are stored in an ink quantity table 76 as they are associated with host IDs. Upon inquiries from the hosts, the managing part 74 informs each host of the residual quantity of ink and the quantity of ink used by each host. |
